chase this!

April 25, 2007

my my how the mighty have fallen. tonight’s episode of the chaser was possibly one of the biggest waste of 30 minutes of my life, perhaps that is an overstatement. it has kept its reputation as having “lost it’s edge” during its first 5 weeks of 2007. to me the guys seem like immature men who attempt to entertain through the use of pranks, that were deemed cool in year 8. the show has severely lacked the “political satire” and “social bite” that one intelligent viewer has described. i miss being able to watch it and feel a sense of satisfaction in many of the stunts, due to my relative high knowledge and understanding of current affairs.

secondly, spicks and specks tonight was quite terrible. sure people may say that it is better with ‘no-names’ but think of these names- frank woodley, hamish blake, ross noble. any who i didn’t enjoy it- stephen k amos was quite freaky and with anthony callea what needs to be said? and can someone tell me why “substitute” is still on?, it would have to be the worst game on the show- puss on wheels.

  3. Yeah Chaser continued in it’s mediocrity tonight.

Also, Anthony Callea annoys me as a gay. Even if I’ve never seen him as a not gay.

  5. Though Stephen K Amos was hilarious and Callea was actually quite witty…I enjoyed the show.

  6. loved Spicks & Specks last night.
I thought the comedian and the singer on Myf’s team were great…not very knowlegeable ;) but funny as!

Poor Alan may have won, but I think Myf and her side definitly had more fun.

As for The Chaser …never liked it, never will.

  9. substitute is done on almost every episode. Its like, a band not playing there biggest single at a gig. regardless, they have better segments.

also, why does tricky get to post on this blog yet he has his own? hmm. sounds like blog-whore-ishness.

  10. Josh; I can delete this web log if I don’t get my way =).

Andrew, Spicks & Specks > House > (current series of) The Chaser > Heroes. All, IMHO of course.

  11. That’s quite nasty tricky. You are the Vince McMahon of the roseability world.

  12. I agree – I hate subsitute! it so doesn’t deserve to be on every episode. subsitution has been done to death and isn’t entertaining anymore, (especially if they had just had the ‘look what they’ve done to my song ma’ where weird bands play songs and they have to guess, pretty much subsitution in another form.)

  13. Does anyone still need to watch Spicks and Specks? Just tape one episode and watch it over and over again. It’s all the same jokes anyway. Someone form the audience got a question? No! Have a point… hilarious.
