well, something that hugs and i have known for a long time has finally been proven by science. Apparently our apple juice addiction is the reason we can both breathe so well, since UK scientists have discovered a link between apple juice and reducing asthma symptoms for asthma sufferers. Incredibly enough;

“Children who drank apple juice from concentrate at least once a day were at 47 per cent lower risk of wheezing than children who drank apple juice less than once a month.”
-Dr Seif Shaheen of the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London

(full story here)

Even though neither of us suffer from asthma, i’d like to think that my fine breathing form is due to my only regular intake of a fruit like product, apple juice.
we’d be pretty set if someone now discovered that homebush chips improves heart function or summat similar.

  2. wow, that was fast. like two minutes after i posted.
    anyway, to recycle a well used joke fact, there are no health benefits from orange juice. in fact, it was found in 1994 that OJ will kill you.

  5. I think i might have to test this AJ theory out too, anything that might help my asthma is worth a try, even if AJ is vastly inferior to OJ in terms of taste.

  7. i still think OJ is superior.

    look what this says:

    ‘Shaheen urges caution in interpreting the study results. “It would be wrong to say that our data suggest that drinking apple juice reduces the risk of asthma,” the researcher said. “We’ve only shown an association, and we’ve yet to provide definitive evidence that the link is causal.”‘

    so you are wrong josh and huw

    and also, they had a sample size of over 2000 children. you can prove anything with such a large sample size! (says hannah who studied research methods for health professionals this semester)

    OJ is much better for you, it contains much more vitamin kool! (c)
