Why Don’t You Get a Job

June 11, 2008

After 3 years at Pauls, my time might be coming to an end. Yesterday I went into Foxsports, a sports broadcasting company, for an interview and was offered a job there doing logging. Lots of people ask me what logging is. Basically I sit in front of a computer watching live sport and writing notes and highlights of the game, making it easier for reporters to compile stories. I get paid an extra $6 an hour from what I get at Pauls, but there are some weird hours involved. Lots of sport that Fox shows is held in American and Europe, meaning I will have to be working sometimes from 2am, and through the night. I’m pretty excited about this job, in regards to the whole foot in the door of the industry, and maybe soon I’ll get promoted to news reader. The job isn’t the easiest to get to, bus to Strathfield Station, train to Town Hall, then walk around Darling Harbour to Pyrmont.

My first shift is this monday…Kicky On!

Kick it to Me

June 4, 2008

So quite a bit, for my quiet standards, has been happening recently. Firstly I got offered a job interview at Foxsports, a sports journalism company. It was originally going to be over the long weekend, meaning I wouldn’t be able to go to camp. This got re-scheduled meaning I am now coming to camp.

Out indoor team had been going along quite well until tonight when we lost by a goal to the team that we (minus me in Greece) beat last time 5-0. Anyway we went down 4-3, one of our goals being an own goal from their defender. I was happy enough to score our two legitimate goals, and at least when you score in a losing team, you can leave the game with something positive. We really should have won tonight, and I got quite frustrated at one point during the game, with lack of any decent shots. Apart from that, playing indoor has been a blast, and lots of people have commented that I have lost weight, though I still refuse to believe them.

I went to a club the other day. It was better than I thought it would be, danced a bit. The highlight was watching some guy in line for 15 minutes all the way till he got to the bouncers, knowing he wouldn’t get allowed in for wearing running shoes, and I was right. Kinda evil of me, but surely people know you can’t get into posh Sydney clubs with running shoes, let alone any club.

Ohh yeah and Phantom was flippin’ sweet, thanks Christine :D
